Neighborhood

The Beacon Hill neighborhood is a great up and coming area close to downtown. What we love most about it is how close it is to everything while still feeling like a place where neighbors know your name. The area offers views, parks, awesome proximity to the stadiums and downtown, great neighborhood coffee shops, breweries, cafes and restaurants which we have more info on in our local guide :) (but for a sneak preview of our favorite local haunts ;), highly recommend: Perihelion, Homer, Bar del Corso, Musang and Victrola! We also love the brew selection at the Red Apple a few minutes from the house! And always enjoy walking to Jefferson Park, especially when we have the nieces and nephews in town.) Beacon Hill fun fact: Back in 1916, Boeing set up shop in a little town called Georgetown, just south of us at the base of Beacon Hill. It was during this time that the Beacon Hill neighborhood blossomed, as it was a favorite spot for the folks who worked at Boeing to live. As a result, a lot of the homes you'll see today were built during that time which helped establish the neighborhood as one of the main villages in Seattle's urban core.

Our stay in Seattle was absolutely perfect! The home was spotless, beautifully decorated, and stocked with thoughtful touches that made us feel right at home—from cozy blankets and coffee to local recommendations. The location was ideal—close to great restaurants, coffee shops, and easy access to downtown and the waterfront. Communication with our host was seamless and friendly, and check-in was a breeze. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would 100% stay here again on our next trip to Seattle!

Find us

Light rail, uber/lyft, bike shares, and walking are all great options for getting around. Since we're so close to downtown, ride shares are usually very reasonable from our place, depending on the demand (as of Sep 2019, Lyft typically quotes me around $10 for 4 people on a Friday night, if that's helpful). We are also about a 10 minute walk from the Beacon Hill light rail station, where believe* rates are somewhere around $2.75 for a one way ticket. We're only 2 stops from the Stadiums station and a couple more into the heart of the city. For parking, I've always found prices downtown to be fairly reasonable and easy. Seattle uses PayByPhone so you can pay for parking at kiosks or download the PayByPhone app which also makes it easy. I think parking most places is free after 8 and I've usually had success finding spots.
