Neighborhood
The Beacon Hill neighborhood is a great up and coming area close to downtown. What we love most about it is how close it is to everything while still feeling like a place where neighbors know your name. The area offers views, parks, awesome proximity to the stadiums and downtown, great neighborhood coffee shops, breweries, cafes and restaurants which we have more info on in our local guide :) (but for a sneak preview of our favorite local haunts ;), highly recommend: Perihelion, Homer, Bar del Corso, Musang and Victrola! We also love the brew selection at the Red Apple a few minutes from the house! And always enjoy walking to Jefferson Park, especially when we have the nieces and nephews in town.) Beacon Hill fun fact: Back in 1916, Boeing set up shop in a little town called Georgetown, just south of us at the base of Beacon Hill. It was during this time that the Beacon Hill neighborhood blossomed, as it was a favorite spot for the folks who worked at Boeing to live. As a result, a lot of the homes you'll see today were built during that time which helped establish the neighborhood as one of the main villages in Seattle's urban core.
